If you leave a comment on the site or an avatar is displayed for you, the Gravatar service may process an anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) and your profile image to check whether you have a profile picture and to display it, in accordance with Automattic’s privacy policy.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions. Essential cookies are needed to log you in, keep your session secure, remember items in your cart, and complete checkout, so the site cannot function properly without them.
We use essential cookies. Our search-performance and page-performance tools do not set analytics cookies for visitors. If we enable analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, seek consent before loading nonessential cookies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, such as logging in and checkout, may not work without essential cookies.
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no consistent industry standard for responding to these signals, so our practices are described in this Privacy Policy regardless of such a signal.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only as described in this Privacy Policy, including with the service providers described above to operate the site on our behalf, when required by law, to protect our rights, our users, or the public, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
If your access is sponsored by an employer or another organization, we may share limited program-administration information with that organization, such as your name, enrollment status, progress, completion status, and certificate information. We will not share quiz answers, lab submissions, or other detailed learning content unless the applicable corporate agreement and accompanying notice expressly provide otherwise.
7. How long we keep information
We retain account and learning records while your account is active and generally for 24 months after account closure or the last account activity. We retain purchase, refund, and transaction records for up to seven years for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. We generally retain contact-form and support submissions for 24 months. Security logs are retained for up to 12 months unless needed longer to investigate an incident or comply with law. 8. How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and security monitoring, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.
